E4 South Africa was formed in 2008 with the specific aim of being part of the Renewable Energy Feed in Tariff (REFIT), Independent Power Producers Programme having secured the long term lease of approximately 1 000 hectares of land in Beaufort West.

E4 South Africa submitted 3 compliant proposals (in Partnership with other companies in the Solar Sector) to the Department of Energy, the last in 2015 and which we presently await notification of the final selection of the Bid Round 4.5, expected in March 2017.

The project anticipates the construction of a 75MW Solar Installation at a budget cost of R1.4Billion, creating over 600 jobs during the constriction stage and up to 50 permanent over the 20 years duration of the Power Purchase Agreement with ESKOM.

Needless to say, with an investment of R1.4Billion, the project will make a positive impact to the community during construction, and further over the life-time of operation, through the involvement of a local Community Trust.

We therefore look forward to the announcement by the Department of Energy in March 2017.
